To Endings And Beginnings...

Samhain Ritual Prayer

In this ritual there are two parts... the first is where you say all the things you want to let go of from the past year and the second is a wish statement stating your hopes and wishes for the coming year.

Divide these into separate pieces of paper and burn just the statement of release ... then burn the wish statement ( releasing your wishes to the universe) using a white candle ..the beginning paragraph is what you say just before and is not burned at all (I keep mine in a decorative wooden Celtic box on my altar and bury it in the earth on the next Samhain)... you can insert what you wish plus you may need to change it to fit your statement better..

On this Samhain Eve I (your name), child of the Goddess and her consort the God, release these needs and wishes to the Universal Energies. May what is needed to be let go of be released in Peace with no harm to myself or anyone else! May what is wished for be heartfelt and fulfilled for the good and free will of all and harm to none

*I let go of ________________and I release it to the universe...
*I let go of any past ______________________and forgive any of the wrongs they may have brought to me or anyone else and I release it to the universe...
*I let go of my fear of_____________ and embrace _____________________, and wherever they may take me I take the experiences and turn them into lessons learned or wisdom gained.

Say this as the ritual prayer then burn the released prayer in your cauldron. Take the wish prayer and using a white candle light  and burn it  or you can bury the wish statement in Mother Earth.

Ritual Prayer

As the Wheel turns
As each year has ended
I except the lessons learned
Each tear becomes newly mended

This is the wish statement:

*For my requests and wishes to My Goddess! I ask the Goddess to bring me _____________________
*I ask the Goddess to give me confidence and strength in whatever I undertake.
*I ask the Goddess to continue to show me her wonders in all of the universe and continue to guide me, ( your name) on my pagan path!
*I ask the Goddess to protect my ____________
*I ask the Goddess to help __________________
*I ask the Goddess to bring my ________________

Blessed Be!
For the highest good of all and harm to none... So mote it be!

Tarot Shadow Work- Recovery

Recovery- (re·cov·er·y)
1. The act, process, duration, or an instance of recovering.
2. A return to a normal condition.
3. Something gained or restored in recovering.
4 The act of obtaining usable substances from unusable sources.

The next step in The Star of Discovery is all about the process of recovery. We can never try to force recovery from past hurts or rush the process, it takes actively using our power of choice in order for the healing to begin and continue. I know that in a crowded place such as a mall or busy grocery store, I could very easily get wound up and anxious but it is by conscious choice to breathe deeply (and not react with irritability or feel overwhelmed )that I can change the pattern from dread of such encounters to it being no big deal.

Now, the first exercise is to look back to the cards I drew in the first part and select one that frightens or least understood. For me the card would have to be The World which deals with my anxieties and awkward feelings. This is the card that screams for attention from me at this time, The World will now become the basis of the next two through six questions.

I am going to set The World aside and shuffle the rest of the Major Arcana cards (including the ones used in the first Star of Discovery) and concentrate on the lost parts of myself I need to recover. What are the areas in which conflict was not resolved or what unexpressed emotions I may still be holding on to? As I lay the next few cards out into the same star pattern, I will turn them over one by one and pay very close attention to how the spread looks and my overall "gut" reaction. I will be looking to see I am frightened by the spread... or maybe relieved or even pleased with the cards I drew.

Next week I will be going into the second position-The Past... and how The World has affected that area of my life.
