THE VISIT

A stranger called on me today she said she'd heard my 'plea',
To have someone to hold me close, to guide and comfort me.
Her name she didn't let me know, she said as I 'moved on'
That I would know, 'within' myself,
That's where 'she' had come from.
She told me:-
"It's alright to cry, to unleash all your fears,
You cannot banish years of hell, without releasing tears.
"You have a right to 'find' yourself, let go of guilt and shame,
To feel the comfort of 'safe' touch - break free from all your pain."
I know her as my ally now, and when I cannot cope,
I call the name I found 'within' - her name I know is
'HOPE'!

Serenity Sunday

This coming week is going to seem very long...weather forecasters are predicting an arctic front to come down out of Canada and remain for several days. Usually if we get that chilly Canadian air, snow is not too far behind but as of now, it looks like the precipitation required for a "major snow event" (don't you just love that phrase) is going to be a hit and miss proposition. Of course all the weatherman use the word "IF" quite liberally. Gotta love those meteorologists!

For all those who's thermometer may be falling like a rock, I'd like to again remind pet owners to make sure your pets have ample water to drink  so the can stay hydrated and a way to stay out of the winter-like weather to avoid frozen or frostbitten parts.

There are several stray cats wandering my neighborhood and my heart just aches that they have nowhere to call home, food to eat or warm places to sleep. I often like to set a dish of food out for them at night so they can have at least a full tummy, if nothing else. I ask that when you can, please donate your time or resources to the local animal charities in your area, they can get overwhelmed and run short of resources during cold spells and would be very grateful for any assistance you can give .

 On to my list....

"Must Have" Monday

Confession time...

I'm a tarot junkie...(and stones and crystals and herbs and oils and incense...) but that's probably not big news given the circle I hang out with..( now that was a pun, wasn't it?) I was looking for tarot bags this last week and I came upon a few really great Etsy shops, one I ordered two really beautiful tarot bags and even searched Google for the  really cool little stones that were shown in the picture with them. I have a few favorite Etsy merchants and today I thought that I would share list with you....

My MUST HAVE List:

Quixoticxa Studio - Some beautifully hand sewn tarot bags, of course I had to order two! Then I had to Google the stones...Leopard Skin Jasper, and order some of those too!

The Imporium:: For all your familiar needs- These have got to be the cutest little critters I have seen in a long time! These little knit creations will definately warm your heart.

Magical Enchantments- I just love this shop, it has everything you might need for that spell, potion or special witchy occasion. I was very impressed with the Hecate magical enchantment oil and candle set that I ordered.

Earthen Creations and Moonlit Creations  both by Mel Kickland, she has some wonderful jewelry all made by hand. Check it out... she is quite talented and creative!

Hibiscus Moon-  Where you can find wonderful pendulums, tumbled stones and gorgeous crystals. I like the Amethyst pendulum myself. On my MUST HAVE as we speak!

Carioca Witch- Handcrafted products from Brazil. These hand sewn items are really great and in fact I have a few on my MUST HAVE list as well!

I hope you have a chance to check out these Etsy sites, there are some terrific items just perfect for gift giving or just because occasions. Don't forget, tonight is the full "Beaver" moon. It's a good time for spells about manifesting, about what you wish to bring into your life...what a great time of the year, when Samahain and the full moon are at almost the same time!

Bright Blessings!

Serenity Sunday

I hope everyone had a very blessed Samhain and a very happy Halloween yesterday! Conor and Meaghan (my youngest two) dressed up as pirates and went trick or treating with their older sister Caitlin and nieces, Autumn and Heaven. I did my releasing  prayer ritual, honored all my loved ones that passed on as well as  beloved cats that have gone to Rainbow Bridge... I then blessed our house and charged it with positive, loving energy. I even got to speak with my sweetie over the phone (he's been in Alabama for a NASCAR race in Talladega) and can't wait until he gets home in a few days! Now, for my weekly gratitude list...

My List:

1.) My children

2.) My sweetie, Chris

3.) Jack O' Lanterns

4.) Chilly moonlight nights

5.) Ancestors

6.) Chakra stones

7.) Happy memories

8.) Life lessons

9.) Hot chocolate (with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles)

10.) Fun sized Milky Way bars

Prosperity

Prosperity- a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition, esp. in financial respects; good fortune.

Abundance- an extremely plentiful or oversufficient quantity or supply.

At first glance, these two words seem remarkably similar but upon closer examination you can see that prosperity is to flourish and abundance is to have a lot of.....I never really put much thought into these words and their use but until I started trying to bring about a more prosperous environment around me, I began to realize there is a world of difference between these words and I started to delve into how to bring about the good things in my life.

There are many ways to be prosperous, financially, spiritually, materially and these are the ways in which most of us wish to manifest in our lives. I prefer to use the word prosperity rather than abundance because it brings to mind the impression of having too much...like bills, rain or even worries and that is usually why we ask to be prosperous in the first place.

There are several theories as to "the secret" of prosperity and I have been one of those individuals myself on occasion. The law of return is a good one, it goes like this: what we give out will return to us, so if we become active in our communities and  show concern and kindness to our neighbors...the thought is that those good deeds shall return to us.  But what if that does not happen? Then we are sent right back to the drawing board to see just where we might have gone wrong.

I have made the observation that maybe deep down inside, we don't feel like we may be worthy of asking for prosperity. The Universe and the Gods will provide for us, but often times only if we ask. You just have to remind yourself that you are deserving of good times. We are part of divinity and as such are more than worthy to ask and recieve prosperity in our lives.

I also noticed that people tend to focus on the negative things that happen to them and also expect them as a regular thing. If they would just start expecting good things, than good things would have a chance to arrive. A great way to shift our focus from the negative to the positive it a gratitude list....Make it a point to write down five things that you are grateful for every day. Do this for a couple months and you will start to notice that rather seeing only negative,  we are more apt to start seeing all the things in our lives that are good.

Every Sunday I have a post called "Serenity Sunday" this is my gratitude list. Each day I write down ten things I am thankful for and on Sunday I pick out a few from the week and post them on my blog. I can honestly say my focus has shifted and I no longer see the glass as half empty but half full instead.  I ask you today, why not start a gratitude journal and see if that doesn't help change your perspectives of prosperity and abundance...?
