To Endings And Beginnings...

Samhain Ritual Prayer

In this ritual there are two parts... the first is where you say all the things you want to let go of from the past year and the second is a wish statement stating your hopes and wishes for the coming year.

Divide these into separate pieces of paper and burn just the statement of release ... then burn the wish statement ( releasing your wishes to the universe) using a white candle ..the beginning paragraph is what you say just before and is not burned at all (I keep mine in a decorative wooden Celtic box on my altar and bury it in the earth on the next Samhain)... you can insert what you wish plus you may need to change it to fit your statement better..

On this Samhain Eve I (your name), child of the Goddess and her consort the God, release these needs and wishes to the Universal Energies. May what is needed to be let go of be released in Peace with no harm to myself or anyone else! May what is wished for be heartfelt and fulfilled for the good and free will of all and harm to none

*I let go of ________________and I release it to the universe...
*I let go of any past ______________________and forgive any of the wrongs they may have brought to me or anyone else and I release it to the universe...
*I let go of my fear of_____________ and embrace _____________________, and wherever they may take me I take the experiences and turn them into lessons learned or wisdom gained.

Say this as the ritual prayer then burn the released prayer in your cauldron. Take the wish prayer and using a white candle light  and burn it  or you can bury the wish statement in Mother Earth.

Ritual Prayer

As the Wheel turns
As each year has ended
I except the lessons learned
Each tear becomes newly mended

This is the wish statement:

*For my requests and wishes to My Goddess! I ask the Goddess to bring me _____________________
*I ask the Goddess to give me confidence and strength in whatever I undertake.
*I ask the Goddess to continue to show me her wonders in all of the universe and continue to guide me, ( your name) on my pagan path!
*I ask the Goddess to protect my ____________
*I ask the Goddess to help __________________
*I ask the Goddess to bring my ________________

Blessed Be!
For the highest good of all and harm to none... So mote it be!

Waning Moon Release Ritual

This spell is designed to help release the stresses and worries of our day to day lives. Though best done during a waning moon phase, feel free to perform it anytime you feel blocked, sad, fearful, negative, angry or bitter.(Make sure your phone is turned off and you won't be disturbed.)

You will need:

2 white altar candles
1 black candle
1 pink candle
Sage, frankincense or myrrh incense (for clearing)
Many small pieces of paper & a pen

RITUAL BATH: add salt to the water or tie the following herbs in a small piece of cloth: hyssop, lavender and rosemary. Run under faucet.

As you inhale the aroma of the steaming herbs, visualize the steam breaking up any tension in your body, and exhale. Ask your body and spirit to release any thoughtforms that are not in accordance with your highest potential, and be willing to look at where you might be harboring doubt, suspicion, or fear.

With each inhale, affirm that you are breathing in the healing energies of the Universe, and that you can transform yourself through meditation, patience and faith.

With each exhale, affirm that the outmoded thoughtforms are transformed into new energy that can be utilized for growth. energy is neutral, so it is up to us to redirect it.

Light your white altar candles and incense. They are symbolic of peace, truth and protection. Meditate for a few minutes on what that means to you personally. Is there anything in your life now that is not in sync with your personal truth?

Light the black candle. The color black is an absence of color, and therefore absorbs... the black candle will represent the absorbing/transforming power of the dark moon, and as we work with it, imagine the pain or anger being pulled out of you and absorbed and transformed by the energy that is symbolized by the black candle.

Take a small piece of paper (and write with as much emotion that you can muster) one thing you want to release / transform.

Light one corner of the paper, and immediately drop it into a flameproof / heatproof dish (a large ashtray or a ceramic pot with some soil on the bottom would be ideal).

Repeat with any and all emotions, fears, resentments, gripes, angers, resentments, excuses, obligations, etc. etc. etc.

Until you feel CLEAR! If you still feel bad, keep going for a while!

When you've cried, griped etc as much as you can stand, put out the black candle.

Light the pink candle. Put on your favorite music: something that makes you feel energized, happy and motivated! Now you need to focus on filling up the spaces left wher the old pain was! Time to fill it in with the affirmations of your choice...

Always write affirmations in the present tense! Keep repeating them over and over until you feel great! Breathe in your new truth.

When you are finished, put out the pink candle, and save it and the black candle until the next time you do this exercise. For maximum effect or serious depression or apathy, do this spell 3 days in a row (finishing on New Moon day).

By The Pale Moonlight

Today I decided to work with my cards again and asked "What should I write about in my blog today?" Oddly the cards gave me the moon, once again it shines in my thoughts...This card has a strange dreamlike quality about it, in which a grinning moon beams it's light down upon a nighttime scene where a crayfish can be seen in the foreground crawling from a glistening stream. There are two characters in the distance holding what appears to be staffs of some sort and farther beyond that is two tower looking mountains that may indicate a passage way of some sort. To one that is not familiar with the tarot, it might appear oddly frightening and surreal but I often see this card as lighting the path with it's pale light so that you will not stumble or get lost. I thought about the Moon card a great deal and it suddenly dawned on me that there is a message here. I had been having vivid and unsettling dreams over the past few days and always wake to this nagging feeling that just seemed to follow me throughout my day. I don't usually have these kind of dreams and I found myself slightly off balance because of it. Perhaps the Moon card is telling me that these dreams are trying to release my inner fears and doubts that I have in my life right now and my subconscious is lighting these fears so that I am able to see them clearly for what they are and move on and release them. Fear is easily banished when illuminated and examined.
