"Must Have" Monday

Confession time...

I'm a tarot junkie...(and stones and crystals and herbs and oils and incense...) but that's probably not big news given the circle I hang out with..( now that was a pun, wasn't it?) I was looking for tarot bags this last week and I came upon a few really great Etsy shops, one I ordered two really beautiful tarot bags and even searched Google for the  really cool little stones that were shown in the picture with them. I have a few favorite Etsy merchants and today I thought that I would share list with you....

My MUST HAVE List:

Quixoticxa Studio - Some beautifully hand sewn tarot bags, of course I had to order two! Then I had to Google the stones...Leopard Skin Jasper, and order some of those too!

The Imporium:: For all your familiar needs- These have got to be the cutest little critters I have seen in a long time! These little knit creations will definately warm your heart.

Magical Enchantments- I just love this shop, it has everything you might need for that spell, potion or special witchy occasion. I was very impressed with the Hecate magical enchantment oil and candle set that I ordered.

Earthen Creations and Moonlit Creations  both by Mel Kickland, she has some wonderful jewelry all made by hand. Check it out... she is quite talented and creative!

Hibiscus Moon-  Where you can find wonderful pendulums, tumbled stones and gorgeous crystals. I like the Amethyst pendulum myself. On my MUST HAVE as we speak!

Carioca Witch- Handcrafted products from Brazil. These hand sewn items are really great and in fact I have a few on my MUST HAVE list as well!

I hope you have a chance to check out these Etsy sites, there are some terrific items just perfect for gift giving or just because occasions. Don't forget, tonight is the full "Beaver" moon. It's a good time for spells about manifesting, about what you wish to bring into your life...what a great time of the year, when Samahain and the full moon are at almost the same time!

Bright Blessings!

Mother Earth's Finest Gifts

I have this stone from Ireland....right off the cliffs of Moher. It's my most prized stone in my collection because it is a small tangible piece of where my family and I came from.

To me it symbolizes a foundation, an origin as well roots and direction. My little piece of Ireland, that my good friend Peggy so bravely retrieved from the cliffs for me on her trip to Ireland, rests in an honored spot on my altar and I use it often as my pendulum.

Even as a child I collected small stones from mother earth at plowing time and I remember how truly great it felt to dig deeply in the soil and feel at one with nature. To see the seeds, planted in the spring, grow all during the summer and at harvest... get to enjoy their goodness at the dinner table. This is truly one of life's finest pleasures indeed.

My children now gather stones, some are quite pretty and some are more plain but I'm beginning to notice that I'm getting an abundance of old coffee cans, brimming with odds and ends of stones, building up behind my shed. I don't mind, not at all...in fact as I look at the overflowing cans of stones I begin to smile to myself remembering doing that very same thing many years ago.

Tiger's Eye

My youngest daughter, Meaghan, is turning out to be quite the little wiccan rock hound and I couldn't be prouder! Yesterday for "take your child to work day," she went with her dad to his job (which is scrapping at the moment...long story) when the person he was doing a pick up for noticed that Meaghan was admiring an old bucket of miscellaneous stones.

To make a long story short...the lady's late husband was a rock hound and had this bucket laying around and she gave the bucket and all of it's contents my daughter. Among the semi tumbled stones was a perfect, shiny tiger's eye stone which she proudly gave to me when she got home....wow... my daughter payed attention to me when I spoke about various stones and what they signify! Anyhow...here's a little of what it means to me....

For those who believe there are healing powers, and a source of energy that lie in quartz and other stones the Tiger Eye crystal is a must have. You can purchase the Tiger's Eye crystal in many different forms of jewelry including bracelets, pendants, and necklaces. Whether you choose to purchase them for yourself or to give as a gift it's money well spent.

By wearing the Tiger's Eye crystal helps clear your mind of any annoying thoughts or stress. It's recommended that you carry it with you everywhere including when you drive to help keep yourself safe from any harm that may come your way. Also its power has the ability to attract wealth, good luck, keep away evil, and protect one's family and friends.

The Tiger Eye crystal can be cleansed before ever sending it to someone as a gift or shipping it to a new location. This will help to prevent it from carrying negative energies along with it. To cleanse it, the Tiger Eye crystal should be kept in salt water overnight as a way to recharge its energy. Once it has been taken out of the salt water it should then be washed in fresh water and placed in the sun for 2-3 hours. This process should be done every 3 months at least. This allows the user to find their inner strength and light. The Tiger's Eye crystal should be protected from sharp blows or scratches so make sure to keep it in a safe place when it's not being worn or used.
