If only for one day
If the world would just stop turning,
If only for one day,
If all the nations lived in peace,
And leaders had no more to say.
If broken hearts were healed,
And raindrops fell on barren lands,
If people would stop fighting,
And black and white held hands.
If the poor would feel no hunger,
And the sick would never die,
If there was never any pain,
And orphaned children didn't cry.
If we all loved each other,
And found the strength to say,
We'd live in perfect harmony,
If only for one day.
If only for one day,
If all the nations lived in peace,
And leaders had no more to say.
If broken hearts were healed,
And raindrops fell on barren lands,
If people would stop fighting,
And black and white held hands.
If the poor would feel no hunger,
And the sick would never die,
If there was never any pain,
And orphaned children didn't cry.
If we all loved each other,
And found the strength to say,
We'd live in perfect harmony,
If only for one day.

Great song that makes me stop and pray and give thanks every time I listen to it:
Thank You for Hearing Me by Sinead O'Connor

Thanks for visiting our new blog...This poem is really beautiful; you seem like a woman with an open heart and generous soul.
It's really a shame that something as simple could never happen, right? Beautiful thoughts for a soft, quiet Sunday xxx
How beautiful, do you think that one day would be enough to shift the world forever?
