Serenity Sunday

Spring

A sense of warmth is tapping at the door;
And hope, a feeling out from distant lore
– Or so it seems – clears the deep refrain!

Emerging youth: a dormant lea awakes.
The raging colour, singing loud, partakes
In annual birth – spring is born again!

A zest anew for nascent life
Begins in floral train:
Carriage one: a snowdropp thrill;
Carriage two: the crocus;
Number three, a daffodil – dancing,
Drawing focus – as she would,
Attention seeker!

How I love our spring:
The bold and sleeker feel I get,
An inner glow, a ring!
I’ve paid the winter’s chilly debt, so
Now upon the wing!

I just love things that have a fantastic scent so I thought I would write down one of the recipes I use to make my own fragrances . I like to make my own perfumes using essential oils as opposed to store bought fragrances simply because they seem to last so much longer and are not nearly as expensive.

Floriental nights

2 tbsp. jojoba oil
3 drops bergamot oil
2 drops neroli oil
8 drops jasmine oil
12 drops geranium oil
8 drops ylang-ylang oil
4 drops patchouli oil

Pour the jojoba oil into a dark glass bottle with a glass rod applicator.
Add the essential oils drop by drop, and shake thoroughly. You can vary the proportions of the essential oils in accordance to personal preference, but note the geranium oil is what gives this blend its floral flavor. Be careful-too much patchouli oil will easily overwhelm the scent; too much bergamot oil will often irritate skin that's sensitive.

Caution: Bergamot essential oil should not be used by pregnant women or epileptics.

Gratitude

In the life of aspiration and dedication

The gratitude-deer always runs the fastest,

Always achieves the most,

Always becomes the perfection-satisfaction

Of the highest

And

Most fulfilling and fulfilled

Supreme in us.

Gratitude is not a human achievement.

Gratitude is a divine treasure

Granted to us

By the inner Pilot within us,

The Absolute Supreme.

The Ten of Cups refers to cycles completed, journeys finished and lives well lived in the company of others. Serenity and peace are in the air, and for a moment you can simply forget about all of the material troubles of the world around you. Peace contentment and great happiness surround you now. Family and friends are fulfilling and supportive to you. This success is not a fleeting or temporary one, but a lasting peace and harmony that can truly be enjoyed. There are no regrets over the past, no concerns for the future, so you can live in the moment and seize the day.

Besom Chant

Besom, besom long and lithe
Made from ash and willow withe
Tied with thongs of willow bark
In running stream at moonset dark.

With a pentagram indighted
As the ritual fire is lighted;
Sweep ye circle, deosil,
Sweep out evil, sweep out ill,
Make the round of the ground
Where we do the Lady's will.

Besom, besom, Lady's broom
Sweep out darkness, sweep out doom
Rid ye Lady's hallowed ground
Of demons, imps and Hell's death hound;
Then set ye down on Her green earth
By running stream or Mistress' hearth,
'Till called once more on Sabbath night
To cleans once more the dancing site.

Be Thankful For
by Author Unknown

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something

Dream Pillows Dream pillows are small, decorative pillows filled with stuffing and a small amount of dried, fragrant herbs, such as lavender or rose petals, to promote restful sleep or love. Dream pillows were once called comfort pillows because of their use with the sick. Relaxing herbs, like lavender and chamomile, also helped crying babies get to sleep. The shamans of old believed dream pillows carried messages from the gods. These days, you can make a dream pillow for yourself or others and help everyone sleep and dream like a baby.

Dream Pillow

Combine the following in a bowl:

~ 1 cup mugwort
~ 1/2 cup rose petals
~ 1/2 cup german chamomile
~ 1/2 cup sweet hops
~ 1/3 cup lavender buds
~ 1/3 cup crushed catnip
~ 1/4 cup peppermint

Mix the ingredients together....make cloth bags from a 5 x 12 inch piece of material....fill the bag with your mixture....sew the top of the bag shut.

*Note: Please be careful and do not use any herb or oil that may be toxic, especially if you are giving this pillow to an older child or pregnant woman. If this is a gift for a child, make sure that they are old enough not to eat the contents.

THE VISIT

A stranger called on me today she said she'd heard my 'plea',
To have someone to hold me close, to guide and comfort me.
Her name she didn't let me know, she said as I 'moved on'
That I would know, 'within' myself,
That's where 'she' had come from.
She told me:-
"It's alright to cry, to unleash all your fears,
You cannot banish years of hell, without releasing tears.
"You have a right to 'find' yourself, let go of guilt and shame,
To feel the comfort of 'safe' touch - break free from all your pain."
I know her as my ally now, and when I cannot cope,
I call the name I found 'within' - her name I know is
'HOPE'!

Serenity Sunday

I had a visitor yesterday, one of my beloved cats Lilo, it turns out now is living back at the house where I used to live. I was so happy to be able to see her and hug her, I dampened her fur with my tears. She recognized me right away after all these months. I had thought my ex had taken all of my kitties to the pound but apparently kept Lilo but couldn't care for her anymore and although I can't have her here with me, I'm sure we will visit daily!

If only for one day

If the world would just stop turning,
If only for one day,
If all the nations lived in peace,
And leaders had no more to say.
If broken hearts were healed,
And raindrops fell on barren lands,
If people would stop fighting,
And black and white held hands.
If the poor would feel no hunger,
And the sick would never die,
If there was never any pain,
And orphaned children didn't cry.
If we all loved each other,
And found the strength to say,
We'd live in perfect harmony,
If only for one day.
